Nominet Introducing Second Level .UK Registrations 
There will be major changes to .UK in 2014 including registrations at the second level, enhanced security, a revised Registrar Agreement and a proposed Data Quality policy is open for comment.

Nominet CEO Wins Leadership Award
Lesley Cowley, CEO of Nominet, the .UK registry, has been awarded the inaugural ICANN Leadership Award for her contributions to the domain name industry.

Number Of .CN Domains Tops 8 Million
The number of .CN domains under management has passed eight million, the Xinhua News Agency reported, making it the fourth largest ccTLD.

.EU Available In Three More European Countries From January
.EU domain names will be available in Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway as of January 8 2014.

.FR IPv6 Deployment Slows
61.3 per cent of all .FR domains had at least one server that was IPv6 compatible, new research from the registry, Afnic, has shown. This is only marginally up on the 2012 figure of 59.6 per cent.

Verisign Research Shows Three-Quarters Of Indian SMEs Prefer .COM
A report by Verisign revealed that 74 per cent of Indian SMEs prefer a .COM domain to a .IN domain.
